Held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre which was organized by both MDEC and SUN Microsystems Malaysia. Was attended by few tops of the industry like president for SUN system’s South East Asia, MySQL community developers,
CEO of regional companies like MDEC and other registered participants for the conference.
I was one among few others representing my company at the conference as we entered the place it was big and quite attractive with the event managers guiding the participants to the respective seating & breakfast sections. Finally it started and been good quite informative in expanding my knowledge about the Open Source Systems, its Usages & implementation strategies.
The main motto of the conference was to officially launch the MySQL combining with SUN Microsystems and supporting MDEC (Multimedia Development Corporation) for the Government planned OSS programmes.
Few facts I learned about few Open source software’s there:
1. MySQL was acquired by SUN for almost 1Billion USD
2. MySQL releases in 2 versions the community and enterprise versions while the community versions are used mostly by the mid-range applications while the enterprise versions are used by big IT vendors which offers support and additional enterprise tools.
3. Many of the Internets popular websites use MySQL as there back end Database systems like Google, Facebook, YouTube & Flickr etc.
4. MySQL records on an average 50-70k downloads per day
5. With the adoption of the OSS schemes in various government agencies the Malaysian Government saved up to RM32 Million.
6. SUN actually stands for Stanford University Network
7. Did you know the 70% of world Air Traffic Control systems run on Sun Solaris.
8. Microsoft Windows XP took about whooping 40billion lines of code done by 1800 developer team.

This is an article about the speech of Apple's Co-Founder Steve Wozniak at Software AG's Innovation World 2008
Apple's co-founder recounted his fledgling career as a young computer programmer starting the company with present CEO Steve Jobs.
Wozniak said his beginnings as an engineer at Hewlett-Packard gave him access to resources such as hardware parts which he needed. He eventually had to leave HP, when he approached the company to help him make a line of personal computers but was turned down.
"They were a great big company, but couldn't stray from their ordinary line of business," said Wozniak. The personal computer product he had envisioned eventually became the popular Apple II.
Wozniak related how he encountered resistance from the HP engineers when he tried to share a method he had discovered, for working out a particularly error-prone equation. In spite of proving that his workaround would be faster and easier to help solve the equation, his colleagues could not switch to his new methodology, Wozniak said.
"People don't like change," he said.
The message he put forward, directed at Software AG's partners and developers present at the conference, highlighted that the path to being an innovator is understanding that one does not have to seek validation from everyone to achieve personal goals.
"You don't have to convince people to do everything like you. Do what you want to do--you have to know who you are," he said, adding that innovation is sometimes also "squeezed" out of a lack of resources.
"When you don't have a lot of money, you [want to] find out new and innovative ways to get the job done," he noted.

Top class athletes from around the world have broken 43 world records and 132 Olympic records during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, while behind scenes the IT team led by Atos Origin has smashed records of its own.
Atos Origin has successfully delivered the IT infrastructure that makes the Games happen and transmits the results worldwide in less than 0.3 seconds. The IT team and the scale of the IT infrastructure has been similar to that in Athens, yet in comparison to the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, the IT team has:
The massive IT infrastructure comprises:
Fully redundant data network
1,000 servers
1,000 network and security devices
10,000 computers
4,000 printers
4,800 result system terminals, including over 2,000 CIS (Commentator Information System) terminals and over 2,000 Intranet terminals (INFO2008)

Filled with excitement, nervousness and pride participating in my very first 5K Jogathon after being regular at my jogging schedules daily I had confidence that though I may not end up winner but finish up the 5K track with out any hiccups.
Finally the moment was on and everyone started jogging competing each others I started running too!! keeping up my steady pace thinking I can increase my pace slowly after reaching a distance but there been few joggers who catch up a good pace at the start itself and maintained well distanced gap between us which we never could compete to overtake. And the same gap been through entire the race and they finally finished up winners and I end up 6th struggling and exhausted.
Anyway being winners or losers all just part of the game it was important gaining the experience running such long track and keeping up the spirits to run more such races and surely win some race later.
Me with my mates ready for the Jogathon
Ready Set Go..........

Your Mind is Blue
Of all the mind types, yours is the most mellow.
You tend to be in a meditative state most of the time. You don't try to think away your troubles.
Your thoughts are realistic, fresh, and honest. You truly see things as how they are.
You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about your friends, your surroundings, and your life.
I'm one of many who love listening music be it any kind of genre/album/band/language!!!!
I just love listening any music that is good to hear and suits the situation you are involving with (love, joy, depression etc)....
Music really has its own way of healing when one is in ecstasy or bottoms of boredom!!!!

In my opinion every guy should be a bachelor at least once in his life to grow up as an independent individual as well as to get a wider scope of things going around him.
Best part of it is every bachelor follows the law of Bachelorism religiously for instance consider my self being bachelor in overseas after being with parents until my graduation made me start thinking broad about life and understand issues in the youth & started to explore both the sides of a coin.
I always wanted to taste every inch of being free and live life king size with out any restrictions and hiccups I come home from work and just sit with friends have a chitchat and if any conclusions come up in our chit chats like about any interesting movie or about any new restaurant serving good food outside or going out to play pool or bowling. We just go for it nevertheless whether its going to be late or have to work the next day.
Who cares we are bachelors :)!!! most fun filled and amazing stage of being single. These are the days surely one would think off once he get's set for marriage realizing how his attitude was towards life while being bachelor and after being settled with some one in life.
I just cant end up telling of being bachelor so shortly now itself let me go on sharing my share of bachelorism here and then whenever got any thing interesting on my blog.

Ashu!!!
I used to work for the clients located out of INDIA and there used to be set of people from my company working at clients location to meet the needs of my client and communicate with the team in India there were times when these guys used to visit INDIA the way they had attention from everyone while their presence in the work place was quite good which made me feel excited more about the idea of working with them one day or visiting their place one time.
At that time I been playing a key role in my team and started feeling my importance at my work place which kept building my confidence all through with my professional growth as well. Then came the moment one day heard from some of my superiors about their decision in sending me to work onsite woww!!!!! yipeeeeeeee I was quite surprised as well as excited to hear it, And literally sometimes I dreamt that I was ordering food in a restaurant there somehow in there local language & going out in beaches there. And to my destiny what ever channel I used to watch on TV was also leading somehow to the place where I was about to go in for work. Then the final confirmations came out from management asking me to get set to fly onsite very soon I was then quite excited and with the mere support from my family members to go in for it I did all my preparations for the trip start from fetching my passport :D I didn't had it until I was declared to go onsite too bad :) to buying my very home needs which my family insisted to have, out of their curiosity and love.
*praise the lord!!!
"Winning doesn't always mean being first,
As quoted I wanted this blog badly to have something of my own in the world of Internet, being a software engineer I had spent 100's of days browsing on net and somewhere I wanted something of my own in this.
Winning means you're doing better than you've done before"
Would like to have a blog of mine was the thought I been had to urge my desires to create something of my own and here comes the day which would be a kick starter for my personal and professional updates MY BLOG "Me Myself Ashok"
Having no much experience in the blogosphere I don't think my writings would be worth glancing for my friends or viewers. But I assure my self that I will start to improve everything coming up in this blog.
