Must Watches For 2009 (Thriller&Horror Fans)

Though I havent been blogging for couple of months I been doing one thing regularly...watching lots of muvees :):)

Here I'm listing couple of movies which I watched over last few days thats been best thrilling and creeply horror it was really worth watching them.

First comes the Orphan released last month October was one good physco thriller I watched in the recent times with lots of anxiety building to know more and more about the characters. I couldnt miss any frame of the movie and never felt bored at any part of the movie. It just glued me to my seat for the entire run of movie finally the overall movie was thrilling and new with good screenplay and casting.

Paranormal Activity I had this movie for a week but didnt had time to watch it untill I received a mail from my friend saying the movie is a must watch for all Horror Fans and I watched... Man it was awesome terrific and mindblowing movie the concept was so simple&plain...A couple shooting their daily stuff inorder to find out a creepy ghostly entity troubling the lady in the movie. Although there wasnt any scary background score or any special effects it just sends you shiver across your spine and I literally couldnt shut my mouth up especially at the night scenes and movie builds up so much anxiety to know whats going on...Trust me a must watch movie for all the Horror Fans.

Rest In Peace Y.S.R

It has been a non stop turmoil all over the Andhra Pradesh for last 24 hours since Dr.Y.S.Rajashekar Reddy and his entourage went missing after taking off in their chopper from Hyderabad yesterday.
Felt very saddening to see someone all fine and healthy go missing and finally news come out he is no more...It has been quite a disturbing news for their families and dear ones may they have all the courage to stand this situation.

Though personally I'm not any political clan supporter since after the 2009 poll results came out I was impressed by YSR for his charisma and dynamic leadership for leading up congress to power for the 2nd consecutive year. Though there were lot of new changes in AP politics during 2009 elections with new parties popping up and the movie glamsham taking bigger role in campaining. YSR stood firm with out any such aid to bring back congress to power.

May his soul Rest In Peace

Hope whoever takes the next role of AP ruler be much more efficient and good administrator than the previous leaders and shape our state in good terms.

So Bored Until I do this

Might be coz of lack of content work at office or should I say life moving on pretty slow mode...put me in new arena that's online gaming which I normally ignore saying that its some junkie addictions but now have been spending most of the time these days playing games on Facebook like FarmVillie, Just for fun quizzes & Mario etc.
Until I stopped watching online news and stuff even felt dreaming the online games sometimes when I sleep.
And here's one such just out of killing time have been looking back at pictures of me visiting the Malaysia's Signature Twin Towers Sky Bridge which till now I did 3times in my three and half years stay here in Malaysia and Here how I was looking and changing year by year from past to now...

In 2007 at Twin Towers Sky Bridge...

In 2008 at Twin Towers Sky Bridge...

In 2009 at Twin Towers Sky Bridge...

I just had quite an awful experience today as soon as I unlocked my PC in the morning at work received virus alert from my Avira Anti-Virus Guard saying "AntiVir has detected 'TR/Agent.coxr' in the file D:\Documents and Settings\User\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\rncsys32.exe"
And also noticed changes in my active desktop where some of my icons were unable to display and seemed corrupted which really scared me.

Then I realized the download I put last nite from not a very good trusted torrent site. And immediately scanned my entire PC for the malicious files and programmes which proved really good and detected few files immediately and healed them. And did a reboot of the PC that's it everything started back normal. Thanks to the Avira Anti-Virus Personal edition.

But in this process I learnt and came across some really useful info thats worth sharing:

1. Virus Guru is a website that helped me with its neat and clean description of the various virus, its risk factors and healing procedures.

2. Trusted Torrent sites with enormous increase of users who love downloading torrents the risk of getting trapped in malicious sites is higher and from today I choose not to search for any torrents in other than these sites which are been reviewed some of the best and here's the list"
1. The Pirate Bay
2. Mininova
3. Vertor
4. Demonoid
5. Torrentz
6. BtDig
7. Nowtorrents

Feels good to be 1year OLD

Its the time to look back at what I have started a year back on this very same date...And thats my blog and today is its the first anniversary.
So it is time to look back on how did it work in world of blogging. During the start of my blog I’ve been using a widget which integrated with my site and collected the visitor count which was lacking details in the information then later I came across
Google Analytics. It just impressed with its detailed report it not only shows visitor counts but also web browser people are using which version and at what screen resolution. It also gives average time each visitor spends on the site. For a free web analysis I suggest Google Analytics is very rich tool to look into it.

Here's a breif snapshot of my blog stats:

589 Total Visits
331 Absolute Unique Visitors
00:02:09 Average Time on Site
80.65% Bounce Rate
56.20% Percentage of New Visits
Malaysia, United States, India, Germany, United Kingdom, France being the top 6 countries contributing major traffic to the blog.

A very big THANKS to all the my visitors who spared their time to read the stuff on my blog I hope to continue this spirit of blogging with much more zeal and interest in coming days and bring up some best posts on it.

**************************Have a good day all you************************

Being at new places always amazes me I always loved sneaking around new places and try a bit of their lifestyle (might be food, culture or language) and I had this chance being in Malaysia from last 3years which really made me bonded to this place sometimes I myself realize the way it just transformed me start from the food I eat, turning fitnessholic and even the TV programmes I watch daily every thing looks so changed.

I now mostly knew a lot of local dishes here from friends and have given it a try and coming to television I mostly watch out for AFC, Travel&Living or SITCOMS or Japanese/Chinese games shows on TV and sometimes even try my luck in making up conversations with my local friends here in my own knowledge of languages here.

Even the weather here the cloudy skies, sudden downpours, chilly breeze & greenery all around makes you feel pleasant after a tiring day at work. And the pleasant places so close to nature really a treat to watch for. And I decided to get my Mom & Sis here to Malaysia for a visit to experience all that I have been through.

Everything was set...things worked out so perfectly well that both my Mom & Sis finished their trip to Malaysia with fun and good experiences.

Creative logo designs with hidden symbols

This ones is interesting and really caught my attention which I didnt notice for a while though been used to view them somewhere or the other. Here goes the list:

1)This logo is designed for a puzzle game that involves unraveling four clues . Hence the letters C-L-U-E are arranged to give a maze like appearance . Another cool part of this logo design is that it looks like a key when viewed from a distance . Now that's what I call sheer brilliance .

2)Amazon.com is a perfect example of powerful yet simple logo . The yellow arrow that points out from "a" to "z" neatly represents that they sell everything from A to Z . The subtle smile of the arrow's curve is an added bonus reflecting customer satisfaction .

3)

Toberone originated from Bern , a city in Switzerland that is rumored to mean as “The City of bears” . Now do you see the yellow bear in the logo of Toberone's Swiss Alps ? Pretty sneaky eh ? Its nice to see a little known fun fact being hidden in such a popular logo .

4)
The illustration of the Australian map in between her bent leg and stretched out arm is perfectly subtle . It would have been cooler though if the map was made on the lower part of her body posture ... as Australia is refereed to as the land "Down under" .

5)
The hidden symbol in this logo is known to many . Just in case you haven't seen it , there is a hidden white arrow between the orange alphabets "E" and "x".

6)
Notice the diamond shaped logo at the right actually had the alphabets S-U-N in it. Talk about symmetry . Now that's creative.

7)
Goodwill industries is a North American nonprofit organization which aids people with disadvantages . At first glance their logo looks like a face with a smile , but with a closer look you will notice the lower case 'g' in their logo .

I knew its not the start of year or any special occasion to kick start something like this...ie setting goals and trying to achieve them but I do feel it necessary since life's just going so empty these days that I feel to light it up with some fun by dotting down few ToDo list.

AND Here's my list I'd like to achieve or atleast try to attempt doing this year:

1. Learn something new everyday either be professional skill or any personal stuff. (and post it in my blog)

2. Make sure to blog at least twice a week.

3. Trim down a bit & build a lil muscle by working out regularly.

4. Learn to do a Swimming Flip. This is fun i hope to post back with pics of me doing a flip

5. Try being more innovative...work the smart way instead of the other way.

6. Start continuning my higher studies.
Its been a long pause between my left over studies and first few years of work.

7. Enhance my skill set in my carrer stream thats Software Quality Assurance.
could be writing a white paper or learing a new tool or could be attending some training or so.

8. And lastly be regular to church, be good & do good for the people around you.

Lets see how far I suceed...hope I could atleast get out of emptiness and boredom with the cause of trying to achieve any of the above ToDo list.

Read this while digging today...looked quite useful and could be used as a set of standard regular checks to be performed by Software QA or DEV team before releasing any Website to production or Launch.

Here's the Checklist

Feeling bit low...

For every one at some point of time have to give away few things or say miss being at some needy situations which we know are very important but its life and have to obey things that come along.

Recently after a regular diagnosis mom discovered stones in her Gall Bladder and the doctors suggested her to have treatment done for the problem but I being out of reach and Mom only being aided by sister in such essential times in India I feel pretty low though I read articles on NET and checked with few friends and families who consider the treatment to be very simple and doesn't even need to worry big about. I have my own fears for letting my Mom & Sister be alone...I just pray to the almighty Lord for a very safe treatment and get my Mom cured for the problem forever.

Hope everything goes in the way planned Have Mercy Upon Me Almighty Lord AMEN!!!

Weight Mirror is an interesting web based tool I noticed across NET which I thought might be useful to friends and ppl who wanna see themselves instantly slim & sleek in their pictures...they advertise very high about themselves in satisfying the needs of slimming down the pictures.

**Personally I haven't tried this service anytime so don't blame me if it doesn't work to serve your desires, Use your un-used mail id while registering for the service.
Try it if you wanna have some fun and comment if you get turned slim with the tool.

Here are few fun tools I noticed from few tech blogs and websites...

Type Alyzer - This is fun stuff just type in your blog address and see what it says about your personality, etc. Though it might not match your features exactly but it is some fun analyzing ur personal or friends blog details.

URL Rate - Type in your website address and know your value.
This actually evaluates the value of your website based on several factors shown in the website like Links, Traffic (Alexa), age of the domain, site category, domain keyword popularity, and overall occurrences of the domain name on the web.

EarthQuake Text - Try typing any text and see the text effect can download it and save it in any of your personal sites.

A nice video about the revelations of some fantastic surveyed proven data...

Google today launched the UK version of its Street View service, allowing people in the main British cities to view pictures of their homes and neighbourhoods online via the search engine's maps.

Here comes the Google Voice!!!

Google has released the priview of its latest and yet another feature that will make transcripts of voice-mail messages and make them searchable.
For now, Google will only offer voice-mail transcription to existing customers of GrandCentral Communications, a telecommunications service provider that it bought in July 2007, it said in a posting on the Official Google Blog.

Little trivia abt GrandCentral
GrandCentral offers customers a single number through which they can forward calls to their work, home or mobile phone, filter calls before answering them, record conversations and access an archive of recordings and voice mail via the Web. Just like Google's promise that with its Gmail e-mail service, you'll never need to delete another message, GrandCentral promises to archive voicemail "for life."

Next-Generation search engine to Google

Tech experts believe Wolfram Alpha could prove as significant to next-generation search as Google has been to the first-generation web.

The search engine is due to launch in May, and aims to understand people’s questions and answer them directly. These ‘natural search’ capabilities mean that web users can ask questions online in much the same way as they ask them in real life. The artificial intelligence of the computer answering the query will be sufficiently well evolved to determine the nuances of the inquiry and provide the appropriate responses.

Would you agree me if I said you don't need any extensive training or certifications to understand & perform automated testing for your websites? Yes. Across the Net there are many free web tools which are built and being campaigned to help and simplify your complex testing process of any e-commerce websites.
Consider me I'd love to do the functionality testing first which usually cover's the business logic of the system and later go on testing with the regular QA standards of the website. Those are scenarios which require lot of man effort & patience in performing regression after regressing to test broken links, spell checks, browser compatibility, mobile resolution compatibility and load testing with various variations, etc.....uhhhh

After going through lot of tech blogs and web posts I have come across these few tools which are really useful for performing such time taking boring tasks in a short span & efficiently. And I'd like to share these info with all my viewers & fellow software QA engineers.

Browsershots - Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is extremely popular and you may therefore have to wait a few minutes for this service to render screenshots of your website.

Load Impact - Load Impact is an online load testing service that lets you load- and stress test your website over the Internet.

IE NetRenderer - Allows you to check how a website is rendered by Internet Explorer 7, 6 or 5.5, as seen from a high speed data center located in Germany. Just type in a URL in the field above and try it out!!

BrowserCam - Test your web design on any browser on any operating system. Check javascripts, DHTML, forms and other dynamic functionality on any platform. Not just yours. Use our bank of testing machines remotely to test your website

Opera Simulator - To see how your website appears on the small screens of mobile phones

Pingdom - It test's complete page including all objects (images, CSS, JavaScripts, RSS, Flash and frames/iframes). It mimics the way a page is loaded in a web browser and records the timing to load each object.

Firebug - You could use it in Firefox to detect elements on your web page that are increasing the load time of your web pages.

html2txt - This ensure's that screen readers can interpret your website. This is an online Lynx simulator (text-only browser) and will also help you understand how your website appears to Google spiders and other search engine bots.

Also finally validate your web pages against online HTML validation and clean-up service like the W3C HTML Validator and HTML Tidy.

The Mom Song

What a mom says in 24 hours compressed into 2 minutes and 55 seconds! Hilarious!

Last nite was a day which sent me a shiver of fear under my spine...Usually Mom call's me daily she does to check on me in case she doesn't I do the call to check on them at home back in India. Yesterday before getting on my bed I wondered Mom didn't call me and I tried calling Mom which didn't went through later tried calling to my sis mobile which was either accepting any calls just wondering what they been doing with out picking up the call I hanged up and continued to close my day by getting on to sleep. But after an hour or so received a call from Mom saying that they had experienced tremors in the apartment which caused chaos in the whole near by surroundings and every one ran down to the road away from the apartment fearing it might be earth quake.
There after people called up press and informed the details happened and upon all things settled it came to notice that there was a big earth shooking blast happened in SM Labs, a Chemical factory in Moulali about 2kms away from our house at around 9:15pm following a major blast triggered by two reactors the blast was so big that the earth was shaken in the vicinity and the sound was heard till 4 kilometers away.
Was really grateful to Almighty GOD for not having any adverse effects of the blast. Hope the regional authorities look into the matter and investigate thoroughly what exactly caused the blast as it is located quite near to a lot of residential complexes any reckless human mistake can claim lives of people around it.
Yet God showed again his mercy by not letting any one suffer from this blast.

Just Another Piece of Crap on Rediff

I just come across this one while reading Rediff.com highlighted to be as
Claim your undelivered tax refund from I-T site but unfortunately any one who had tried this would have been fall flat with the way the website works. Just wonder how come one could do such press releases of their product with such blunders lying in it.
It really sounded good that someone has come up with the idea of providing the information on the undelivered tax from the IT department but yet again it just showcased the half done work of the IT department and blind editing of Rediff for such articles.

It is quite natural logic to see a lot of beauties around created with no brains and brains created with no beauty.
Here are few examples of some dumbest quotes made by some hot blonde's....as I read in an article.

1) Paris Hilton talking to press about the US chain store: "Wal-Mart... do they like make walls there?"

2) Jessica Simpson on NewleyWeds: "Is this chicken, what I have, or is this fish? I know it's tuna, but it says 'Chicken by the Sea.'

3) Alicia Silverstone on her role in Clueless: "I think that the film was very deep. I think it was deep in the way that it was very light. I think lightness has to come from a very deep place if it's true lightness."

4) Chantelle Houghton when Big Brother said she had changed since becoming a celebrity: "I've changed? What do you mean... I've changed my clothes?"

5) Jodie Marsh in a recent interview: "Eskimos are uncivilised because they don't have any shops."

6) Paris Hilton on her technique on the red carpet: "I don't really think, I just walk."

7) Jessica Simpson on her first day at high school: "A teacher asked us if anybody knew the names of the continents. I was sooo excited. I was like, Damn it! It's my first day of 7th grade, I'm in junior high and I know this answer. So I raised my hand, I was the first one, and I said A-E-I-O-U!"

8) Goldie Horn on her favorite types of films: "Comedy is funny".

9) Sam Fox on fitness clothes: "I've got 10 pairs of training shoes - one for every day of the week."

10) Britney Spears on her taste in clothes: "So many people have asked me how I could possibly be a role model and dress like a tramp and get implants... all I have to say is that self-esteem is how you look at yourself and I feel good enough about myself so wear that kind of clothing... the breast implant issue has nothing to do with that..."

Chinese New Year is the longest and most important celebration in the Chinese calender. And considered to be a prominent occasion in the South East Asian countries and working in Malaysia got me to see these celebrations pretty closely. About 25% of the Malaysian population is Chinese, Kuala Lumpur is a well packed place with all the nationalities including Malaysian, Chinese & Indian.
2009 CNY had been a bit different unlike others I spent in KL one of our boss had arranged for a open house party for the CNY and invited us to join them. And frankly I'm the one who has a big YESSSS on face for trying any new foods or any new adventures and I was the one who readily agreed to go to their place and see how it would be to share their chinese new year celebrations.
After we all gathered we started driving and managed finding their home which was a beautiful house by mid afternoon just by seeing the footwear lying outside the house I could estimate the celebrations inside. We went in there greeted all the people in and our boss and she just introuduced her hubby and few others to all of us and shared some time with us and we all later joined the lunch table with her and tried few special dishes of their's and spent the rest of time gambling, glancing the house and chit-chatting and after everything its the chinese tradition to give guests who are single "lucky money" in red envelopes. Red symbolizes fire, which according to legend can drive away bad luck. And came back and just hope this Chinese New Year of OX gets good luck to each and everyone and sheds some magic in everyones life.

Weekend Trip to Fraser's Hill Pahang

One of the most flexible point being a bachelor is that you never need to really plan hard for anywhere you go or choose to stay for and here we did that again going to Fraser Hills with a very short span of plan just telephoned the hotel seeing it on web and asked for a flat to stay and that's all didn't plan anything packed up our bags with clothes, drinks & just raw chicken with hope of barbecuing after reaching there as its hill station and BBQ suits most there.
headed towards the Puduraya bus station hoping to get a direct bus to the hills and to our disappointment cant get a single direct bus connecting to that place and finally on enquiring to our surprise had couple of city buses connecting to that place and we all boarded into the city route bus.
Finally reached the place by evening and checked into our hotel rooms got freshed up and were out with our cameras snaping each other and the beautiful scenaries all around. Much to our surprise we had everything needed to BBQ available there and managed to cook the entire chicken that we took there and trust it really tasted good...didn't left a morsel of chicken.

After eating drinking slept heavy and woke up for the 2nd beautiful day at fraser hills amazed by the morning fog and feeling the chill in the weather headed for another round of photos. Later visited Jeriau Waterfalls had some good fun time there and headed back home with nearly 2GB of photos covering every minute thing of the entire trip. And yet again a safe and well executed trip guys....kudooooos
